Tanzania Special safari will take you deep into the wild destinations of Tanzania while staying at very small, sustainable and intimate camps and lodges thus assuring you unmatched personalised attention and service. Your driver Guide and our Client Relations personnel will meet you at the Kilimanjaro International Airport. You will be transferred to your hotel for overnight and breakfast.

On the second day you will commence on safari to Ngorongoro Crater with a visit to Ol Duvai Gorge Museum where some discoveries of mankind’s earliest ancestors were discovered. You will descend into the crater for exploration as well as game viewing in the crater. In the afternoon you will ascend and head to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Next, you will be driven to Serengeti National Park which is one of the world’s greatest national parks and this is where tens of thousands of herbivores migrations takes place setting it as the most exciting and thrilling national park to experience ‘Real Africa’ wild call. Apart from the game rich game viewing drives, the hot air balloon safaris over the plains will have you exploring the plains with its wildlife from the very best point of view.

We set off for Lake Manyara National Park - a relatively small park that has succeeded in its vast conservation projects and thus boasting varied birdlife and wildlife as well as plant species. Lake Manyara was established with a mission to protect the elephant herds that have made this are world renowned as well as a wealth of biodiversity.

Your next destination will be Tarangire National Park – a large reserve that is centred on the Tarangire River and much of the wildlife in the Northern region of Tanzania head here for the water and the diverse vegetation znes ranging from acacia parkland and riverine grassland to deep gully vegetation and rocky hilltops during July to early November.

We drive to West Kilimanjaro to an area known as Sinya, a private concession of about 600 square kilometers. One of the few areas in Africa where huge elephant bulls, more than 50 years old carrying tasks of considerable size, are regularly seen. Here you will have an opportunity to visit the Maasai homestead to experience an unchanged heritage.

We fly to Zanzibar – a place that seems to stir the soul, tranquil, a scenery of natural beauty, an exotic feeling, and going back to history islands of Unguja, Pemba and surrounding islets that together form Zanzibar, are certainly one of the most attractive spots in the world with a rich history and crystalline sandy beaches.

 

 

 

Detailed Safari Itinerary >

Duration: 15 days, 14 Nights

Day 1: Arusha, Tanzania

On arrival at Tanzania’s Kilimanjaro International Airport, you will be met and welcomed by a Safari Director, who will accompany you to the elegant Lake Duluti Serena Hotel, where you will spend the night. Your stay is on Bed and Breakfast.

Spend your first night here at our favorite choice of hotel at the foot of the wooded slopes of Mount Meru.

Day 2: Lake Manyara National Park

After breakfast, your driver will leave armed with picnic lunches and you will head to Lake Manyara National Park your game viewing will start as soon as you enter the park, the park is profoundly known for large elephants, lion buffalo, zebra and plains game and is a birders paradise.

As the sun sets you will be driven to Lake Manyara Serena Safari Lodge which sits high a bluff for dinner, overnight and breakfast and breathtaking views over this spectacular park.

Day 3, 4, 5: Serengeti National Park

Next we drive deep into the Serengeti National Park. The scenic drive is all about stark contrasts of forested highlands to the flat endless sort grass plains of the central Serengeti eco-systems which resembles Masai Mara’s richness. Arrive at Serengeti Serena Safari Lodge in tie for a hot sumptuous meal. Settle into your room before heading out for a game viewing drive.

Spend three days exploring the Serengeti, watching vast herds at one of the largest wildlife sanctuaries in the world. On the third day you will leave with picnic lunches and head out for a full day game viewing drive and head north where you may be lucky to witness the great migration and definitely encounter staggering wildlife, great numbers of cats and plains wildlife.

At the end of one day, linger over sun downer cocktails overlooking the Serengeti plains.

Day 6, 7: Ngorongoro Serena Safari Lodge

After breakfast your guide will drive you to Ngorongoro via Olduvai Gorge, arriving in time for lunch at Ngorongoro Serena Safari Lodge, settle into your room and enjoy breathtaking views from your veranda. This afternoon you will relax, attend dinner and sleep.

Next day, we descend into the crater – a truly stunning wonder of the world, the 102-square mile crater is a magnificent caldera – the largest in the world. Encounter over 30,000 animals: elephants, prides of lion, leopard, cheetah and giraffe among other general plains wildlife. Lunch will be taken as picnic. In the afternoon we proceed with our game drive before ascending the crater and driving to our lodge for dinner and overnight.

Day 8: Tarangire National Park

This morning we savour a leisurely breakfast then we set off for Tarangire National Park – a park of dramatic landscapes and excellent game-viewing, mystic baobab trees, plus a large concentration of big cats and arguably the best bird diversity in East Africa. Arrive in time for lunch at the Tarangire Sopa Lodge and settle in to your exclusive and experience nature at its purest form. This evening we head out for an evening game viewing drive before returning to the camp to freshen up, attend dinner, sleep and be awakened by the majesty of the competitive lions.

Day 9: West Kilimanjaro – Sinya Conservancy

After having a full breakfast, we drive to West Kilimanjaro to an area known as Sinya, a private concession of about 600 square kilometers. One of the few areas in Africa where huge elephant bulls, more than 50 years old carrying tasks of considerable size, are regularly seen. Here you will have an opportunity to visit the Maasai homestead to experience an unchanged heritage. The Maasai here are still living the traditional way and are not used to the commercial relationship with tourists that is common in more visited areas. Other activities included in your stay here are: game viewing drives, sundowner (The sunset celebration) and a Kilimanjaro Hike, you will be transferred to the Londorossi entrance gate and you will spend the day trekking in the park for approximately 3 hours, lunch is taken as picnic.

Day 10, 11, 12, 13, 14: Zanzibar Island

Today you will be transferred to the airstrip where you will board your flight to the spice island of Zanzibar – a place that seems to stir the soul, tranquil, a scenery of natural beauty, an exotic feeling, and going back to history islands of Unguja, Pemba and surrounding islets that together form Zanzibar, are certainly one of the most attractive spots in the world with a rich history and crystalline sandy beaches. On arrival you will be picked up by a member of Woni Safaris and transferred to Matemwe Retreat where you will have 5 splendid days to yourself to relax, enjoy the retreat’s facilities and engage in the optional beach activities and excursions on offer. Your stay is on full board basis – three meals a day.

Day 15: Dar es Salaam

You will have breakfast and lunch at the hotel. In the afternoon, you will picked and transferred back to Zanzibar International Airport. Depart on scheduled flight to Dar es Salaam International Airport 17:00h – 17:30h. Connect outbound flight.
