Bordered by South Africa, Zimbabwe, Zambia and Namibia, Botswana is a country of striking physical beauty and contrasts. The huge Kalahari Desert occupies more than half of the country, while ancient lake beds cover the northwestern basin. Botswana is known as the land of deserts and deltas and is home to some of the most extraordinary eco-systems on earth. The Delta is the second largest inland river delta in the world and is a paradise for nature-lovers and wildlife enthusiasts alike.

There is something about this land that beckons you. It draws you in from the moment you arrive. Whether it is the sweetness of the wilderness air, the distant cry of an elephant, the roar of a lion’s pride, or the stars as they hang like diamonds and pearls in the African night sky – Africa pulls you to her. It is a force that only those who have experienced her before can testify. For a brief moment in time, Africa gives herself to you but never leaves your soul.

Botswana is often viewed as the ultimate safari destination in Africa. Game is excellent, there are a small number of camps and lodges and the scenery is unparalleled. Botswana has been extremely careful in the development of its camps and as a result there are only a small number of properties in the country. All the camps are unique in both character and location - some built up in trees and others on stilts above the floodplains. None of the camps are fenced so don’t be surprised to find elephant outside your tent. Botswana has a reputation for being expensive and the most luxurious lodges are not cheap. However you do get what you pay for – a beautiful camp in a pristine environment. If you do not have the budget for the higher end camps we know lots of other ways to explore the country. Mobile camping safaris are an excellent option, as are some of the lesser-known camps in the national parks. We know all the camps from personal experience and can tailor an itinerary to match both your interests and budget.

Botswana is known as the one of the last untouched and unspoiled places in Africa. A land of timeless beauty, it teems with wildlife and for that reason alone, it is not to be missed in ones’ African itinerary. What sets Botswana apart from other African countries is the concept of low volume tourism. Most safari properties in Botswana operate on vast private concessions that are measured in miles, not acres. With capacities restricted in many cases to twenty clients or less, it is easy to feel like “we had the whole place to ourselves!”

Whether you’re exploring by Mokoro, on foot, or in the comfort of a game vehicle, Botswana is a precious jewel in the delicate balance of the African ecosystem. Botswana makes all of your senses come alive. The wildlife is wilder, the colors of nature are clearer and more distinct, but best of all Botswana never fails to satisfy the hunger and appetite for the true, traditional African experience. With roots in Botswana for decades, we invite you to experience.

The wildlife, birdlife and marine life destinations include: The Okavango Delta, The Chobe National Park, Moremi Game Reserve, Central Kalahari Game Reserve, Kutse Game Reserve, Deception Valley, Savuti, Mamili National Park, Makgadikgadi & Nxai Pans national Park and Khama Rhino Sanctuary.
