Rwanda is progressively seeking to take the lead as East Africa’s primary ICT destination and has made some positive progress with their “One Laptop A Child” project, which has seen the introduction of laptops and information technology already in primary school to have the next generation fully computer savvy.

The Rwanda Development Board in the past few weeks entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with Korean Company: Korea Telecom to bring 4G LTE technology to Rwanda to propel the country firmly into the latest technological standards.

“Tourism at large is the main beneficiary at the moment as visitors will get their Visa processed online, they book RwandAir flights online, and they can even construct their own itinerary and make it a reality by choosing a licensed tour operator online. Being online showcases the country’s attractions to the global web community and the rising visitor numbers are in large part a result of such initiatives,” said a member of the RDB Tourism and conservation staff.
